Even if Apple has a victory in a US court, does that make the "problem" in China go away?

Squashing the case in the US means one less distraction, regardless of the outcome in China. However, from what I can tell (based on the articles that have been written about the case), it seems that Proview has only gotten a couple of the lower courts in the smaller cities to go along with its argument. It tried to obtain an injunction in Shanghai but the court declined to grant one as it decided to wait for the result of Apple's appeal. What this suggests to me is that Proview's case is not so convincing that it can easily waltz into any court and get what it wants. Also we have a court in Hong Kong which decided that Proview did sell Apple the name for use in China. My feeling (I'm no expert and I'm often wrong) is that as the case progresses farther up the legal chain, Proview is likely to find it more and more difficult to convince the judges there. Then there are the politics of the case. As has been said, Apple's business means a lot of jobs for China, and the government might be unhappy to see them jeopardized in any way. Proview after all is a bankrupt company in Hong Kong, not exactly mainland creds. Perhaps Apple can buy Proview's debts from its creditors (one of which is Bank of China, I think) and shut down the company once and for all ;-)
