I absolutely understand and appreciate your initial concerns, but the issues you mention are still being phrased well within the language of the liberal talking points... I'm not saying you're speaking from the liberal perspective, what I'm saying is that the problems you mentioned have always been framed within the liberal phrasing and liberal vocabulary... it's not so black or white, all or none... if Santorum could make very clear that the conservative perspective is for everyone and that if we could again believe in our own personal efforts and our own personal pride for the things we individually accomplish, then the American dream can be everyone's... it will take some doing, and he's very young, who knows what he could accomplish in terms of waking people up to the real American ideal... does anyone really want to become a dependent of the State for the rest of their lives? Wouldn't job training while on welfare be more productive? Santorum is big on family values, so he could remove the marriage penalty from the tax code and give married people a tax break instead... that would encourage people to remain married and give their kids a chance to grow up with both a mom and a dad... and so on, I think he's certainly smarter than most and he could definitely make more appealing some of the conservative ideals we cherish after he removes them from the liberal language mold they now sit it...
