This Week will be Interesting

The asia crisis will continue its march this upcoming week. Analysts are starting to feel a little sweaty under the collar as the full impact of the Korean situation becomes known.

Also, it appears that Yamaichi IS going to cease operations at the beginning of the week. The Japanese gov't will only guarantee depositor's money and nothing more. The Nikkei rallied last week on the assumption that the gov't was going to bail Yamaichi out and keep them alive. If the Nikkei doesn't take a major downturn on its opening, I'll be surprised. This could deal major blows to other financial institutions as well. Is there a potential run on Japanese banks brewing?
