Obama breaks promise to our retired military heroes. What kind of Commander in Chief is that? A terrible one...

It's a bummer.

Let's see, I gave 20+ years of my life (arguably the best years - Age 19 to Age 40). when I first went in, retirees were promised "Free medical care for you and your dependants for the rest of your life" ...

Somwhere around year 14 or 16, that changed ... and this TRICARE program started charging for medical care (co-pays + percentages if not using a 'network' / facility/doctor) . Then, we start having to pay co-pays for medications at 'network civilian' pharmacies .... then a co-pay for 'mail order prescriptions) and the charges for the medical insurance continued going up .... and now it's all going up very significantly, it appears ... all from an administration of the 'compassionate, caring left'.

Medications will go up significantly it seems ...

Now, why should I expect 'free' medical care? Well, to start with, it was used as a recruiting/retention tool/ promise to keep us in for a career. Second, it was considered part of a 'delayed compensation' program in return for being paid significantly less than people in comparable civilian jobs for all those years.

Just another instance of the government going back on its word. We (vets/retirees) are getting accustomed to being shit on in 'appreciation' for our service for all those years.

So .... what else is new?
