you may listen to cnbc, but you need to comprehend what you listen to on cnbc. for example steve crawford tuesday morning explained that this cyclical stimulus of trillions of dollars is not leading to a secular upward movement in the economy. the entire idea (strategy some would say) behind all this stimulus money is to create a cyclical recovery that will lead to a secular acceleration of the economy. even ole mohammed el erian (can't recall how to spell his name) did not discount what he explained. in fact he even repeated it to make sure he got it.

if you give me a trillion dollars each year, i will show you an even better time than you think you are observing now. it will be better, because i can avoid spending the money on a lot of items that are the big malinvestments with no stimulative value.
