It is unfortunate that Newton's puritanical upbringing coupled with the death of his father before Newton was born combined to create such a troubled and psychologically disturbed soul. Seldom has such genius and such infantile obeisance to the reification of an imagined father authority resulted in such a bizarre life. For instance, he felt intense guilt over 'Squirting water on Thy day' and 'Making pies on Sunday night'.
