What does 'value added' have to do with anything? I think this is just jargon to justify animosity.

I read that something called the Ursuline Sisters founded the second hospital in what's now the US in New Orleans in 1727. Turns out the first hospital in the current borders of the US was in St Augustine FL. I presume it was also Catholic. Also that there were almost 400 Catholic hospitals in the US at the beginning of the 20th century. So I think the Catholic churches running hospitals is neither new nor sinister.

I am not a Catholic btw. The extent of my involvement with the Catholic church was to attend a wedding in one once.
