Why does each think like they do. Part of my decision to major in psychology was to answer that one question. It would have been an easy question to answer if it had been based on some simple self evident variable, but I couldn't find that variable? Still not sure. I noticed people with engineering degrees (which takes some smarts and hard work to get) to the right of Genghis Khan. And there are guys like Santorum with a string of degrees, including JD, yet seems as dumb as a post. But to your question. One thing I have learned, right here on SI, is that the reason right wing threads ban liberals is they cannot debate them. A good liberal debater can back any conservative right into a corner with ease using facts and logic. So right wing moderators have to eventually ban them to keep order. A decade ago the liberals and conservatives posted on the same threads, but just like congress slowly separated into their own threads. Another thing one will notice is that on the liberal threads the facts are usually correct and the logic sound. The posts have an introductory paragraph laying out the topic, a body and a concluding paragraph. Conservative's post in phrases and right wing (FOX) talking points and after a while the word loony or moron will emerge characterizing the liberal as the frustration mounts. Bentway is a great debater and at one time he had a zillion bans and ignores as he ran through right wing threads. So LIndy Bill (who is quite religious) knows he has to keep liberals off his thread. I have always said he did politely ask me to leave when I posted there, he didn't just slam me which is what I really find distastful. I think a warning is always a good idea to anyone a moderator does not want and something I respect. One last thing, as you brought up the subject. This is something I seldom post about, but as I have studied the right wing so intently for 50 years, I have noticed something strange. I am sure I can tell a liberal from a conservative at a rate greater than chance just by looking at them. So what am I seeing?
