so have you looked at this name in the past and what are your thoughts?

i first looked at it shortly before the TEO earnings rpt, and bought a small bit of NTL. there is an old (circa 2005) rating on VIC that suggested a long NTL/short TEO strategy.

i think my conclusions are basically the same as yours. the market doesn't recognize what will soon be a large dividend payer. mostly because of the complicated share structure, which isn't even *that* complicated.

in addition to the dividend catalyst, Telecom Italia may be interested in a take over of TEO through NTL.

what kind of a pay out ratio does the Lazzard report forecast for TEO? looks like it's ranged from 50 to 75% (iirc) for the past few years.
