Civilized countries have adopted a principle of universal human rights and freedoms. This does not mean that other rights and freedoms cannot be granted or agreed for other creatures. It simply means that these FUNDAMENTAL Rights cannot be LEGALLY and MORALLY abridged. Humans decide on the definition of what is human. It is rational to decide that a fetus has only the rights granted it by the mother--as to grant it rights independent of the mother would abrogate the Universal Rights clause for humanity.

This does not mean that abortion cannot be morally argued both individually and within communities--but only that it cannot legally or morally be prevented or enforced--and that to force either of those choices is to grind down universal human rights and leave all homo sapiens at the mercy of social caprice and whim--in a word, at the mercy of FORCE.

FORCE is not a moral code.
