I sense another possible thread here. I was getting the "cold call blues" since receiving a letter stating that I bought stock I didn't order from a firm with whom I have no account. It's a long story --- but it will be longer for the broker. His letter is being sent to the SEC tomorrow, and to someone I've already spoken with about this problem.

Actually, when I really started smelling a rat, I had the good sense to hit the SEC website. I sent them e-mail on Sunday and when I arrived at work Monday they had responded. The same day I was talking to a real person (because I sent a followup e-mail hinting that maybe they didn't seem to care much - I think that got their attention <G>).

If anyone is interested, you can read them at ENFORCEMENT@sec.gov or through the SEC website. Go to sec.gov and click on the SEC Enforcement Division link. You will find a way to contact the SEC. Good luck to all.
