I don't know why I bother to be so careful with my wording when the clarity is ignored or undifferentiated. I never said that healthcare, relief, and adoption are not appropriate parts of the role of religious institutions, only that big business isn't.

Ah, so it's the size. I was inferring from your previous posts your problem had to do with no 'value added' or 'mixing functionality' or something. But now it's size. How small would a hospital need to be to be non-objectionable and how do you figure that .... on a square foot basis, dollar amount, number of personnel?

The military does have hospitals (not just VA) and they're part of the military's mission.

See, there's another example. It's hard to have a discussion with someone who is so disrespectful of or oblivious to the written word and the writer. I wrote "What if the military started buying up and operating civilian hospitals?" Of course the military has hospitals to serve its constituency and of course they're part of the military mission. But buying and operating hospitals in downtown Oshkosh, Albuquerque, Spokane, etc. in competition with the established hospital chains is clearly outside their mission.

You may not have been respectful enough to read the rest of what I wrote (and seized the first opportunity to fly off the handle): "So do other agencies (like public health clinics). I don't have a problem if it's related to their mission."
