f government expands it or if the clergy expand it, then we get into role issues. For someone who understands that government shouldn't be in the hospital business, this should resonate with you. What if the military started buying up and operating civilian hospitals?

That's a totally different kettle of fish. Government's role is more reasonably ours to determine, than the role of an organization that doesn't forcibly grab our money, or weld coercive power over us.
