re As to the Human right, I found no major problems in China, people can talk freely, travel freely, go to the church freely, even the president was critized publically by people, just like Clinton can be critized by people publically.

I haven't had much exposure to Taiwan people, but I have talked of the China/Taiwan issue one time with a young woman from Taiwan who was also traveling in Europe. She feared China, and said the shore shelling by the Chinese Navy during those so-called "exercises" in the Taiwan straits was "frightening". So you don't convince me that the majority of Taiwan people want to belong to a communist country, because why would they? What does China have to offer Taiwan people? The Taiwan people have a higher standard of living than US people do. Perhaps we can get a Taiwan citizen lurker to contribute to this.
Another thing: To become a Democracy, you have to hold something called "elections". Do you suppose that will happen in China soon too? -g-
