Them pulling out of foreign currencies is an assumption. Its the only money making vehicle they have. And if that be the case, that they would sell these securities, it wouldn't happen all at once, because they wouldn't be worth much.

If there is any regulations in Japan, they sure found the loop-hole to get by with these illegal transactions for years. Think of how wide spread this corruption had to be in that organization! Everyone had to be in on it. Every one, and the Govt? Can one keep hiding these transactions from auditors this long? It was embezzlement, take from one acct. play the market with it, the market went down, then hide the transaction by moving the numbers around to someone else's acct.

They are committed to making sure everyone gets their money back, from what I am reading. There's money to pay everyone, they say, so we'll see.
