I leave for a weekend and you let that damn dog in again. What is it with you and that dog? I hope he's been dipped and bathed. There was a story in the Richmond paper yesterday about the New Jersey affirmative action case that the plaintiff was trying to get before the Supreme Court. In discussing the merits of the case, it was pointed out that the black woman holds a Master's Degree, while the fired white woman did not, although she had two more years teaching experience. The case has been settled with a large monetary amount funded by a coalition of civil rights organizations because they feared that aff. action would be further gutted if it went to the current Court. The first woman was quoted as saying (not exact as this is from my notoriously poor memory), "An advanced degree don't get you nothing." I just found this a really provocative quote.
