They announced their decision to diversify foreign currency holdings several years ago, Burpie.

(Generally they want to be roughly trade-weighted in their reserves.)

Personally, I think their bullion purchases are much more significant. (Hard to argue that Euro or Yen have done them much more good lately.... :-)
