How can this be?

"The cruel irony now is that they can't get their hands on that cheap, heavy crude. Canadian crude is exactly the kind of oil these sophisticated refineries need but it's all piling up in Cushing, 700 km to the north. Without a way to pump it down south, Gulf Coast refiners with sophisticated facilities are instead being forced to pay a premium for heavy oil from Venezuela. "

Does not everyone know that Canadian oil that reaches the coast will simply be exported. Surely those telling us that would not lie as they are the "caring" people of our society. We must prevent the US from being simply used as a conduit for Canadian exports to the world - right? Especially when they will not pump the oil to their coast - why should allow them to use ours?
