Didn't like it, period ... says he has a house three miles from a lake he does like, and they're calling it their tailings pond ... says the setting is right in the saddle between mountains, exactly where you'd build the main lodge if it were Banff or Jasper, made some grudging concession to the need for industry but felt it should be restricted to 'out on the periphery', and not, apparently, where economic orebodies are found ... made the point that tourism is a larger more important industry than mining, didn't say how you'd move tourists around without any metal though, and probably wouldn't have liked the retort that on a dollars per square foot basis, tourism wouldn't stand anywhere near a chance against a mine ... also missed the fact that hey, some of us like them

Very articulate uber-greenie ... that wiki piece doesn't mention ayahuasca, surprising, because years ago that same radio station had a long piece of his on it they would replay many times ... a couple of the neighbours on our road here know him [but not the ones i hang out with much] ... just another example of the stiff opposition any mine will find in this province, where so much of the population is completely distanced in every way from any basic production

ngd.to - New Gold has a fair bit of copper coming, El Morro and Afton, makes it a copper play to some degree ... i've been playing swings on it, started in too early this time round, did well since early january though, in approx sixty per cent now ... probably should pay more attention to copper, been ranking priorities as silver gold and oil ... here's a piece on Beaty and Lumina -
