I heard some idiot call into a radio talk show this week claiming her Volt was paying for itself in gas savings -- an absolutely absurd statement. Not only will it never pay for the rebate the taxpayers paid for her, she could have bought a Sentra or other small car for a fraction of the money and driven 100,000s of miles on the price differential at even higher gas prices than today. In general, they're idiots and cannot do basic arithmetic.
