What makes a hummingbird less significant than Man? i have absolutely no reason to do so---humanity is a species OBSESED WITH ITSELF----why?

it's that ego/mind thing, max...that is the root of it.

if we choose to be born and if the point of it is to experience and learn, regardless of the consequences, because, after all, what is a life but a really short span of time...then part of the learning would have to be the part where you learn that you are equal to a hummingbird in the stature of the natural world.

as i reflect on our conversation, it occurs to me that you see the proposal that we are from one source to mean that we are part of a hive or a "collective."

i've thought about that and i will argue that there is more than one interpretation to the proposal that since we are from one conscious source, we are part of a hive.

i believe it's possible to come from a single source, maintain your own unique life/soul/preferences and still share the human experience with others.

for example, i have a brother. he is male, i am female, he watches faux news, i don't watch tv, but when we stand at our mother's grave (he wants to put her in a "assisted living" facility, i say never!), i wager we'll be sharing a sense of loss.

to take it a step further, in 1984 i went to a rock concert at a football stadium with 85,000 other people. during that concert, as i looked at the people around me (the cops were dancing...the soft drink vendors were standing on their counters dancing...everyone was on their feet dancing), i shared a emotional experience with those people. when the show was over, we all went our way, but we shared that moment.
