The original Jesus would not like that his name is associated with Wall Street moneychangers, homophobes, racists or destroy-to-save militarists, which has been too much of his status in the last 100 years, with some exceptions who might get killed by right-wing death squads for actually helping the poor and workers (see central America.)
Jesus 2.0 and subsequent releases were launched because it was an opportunity for money or power over masses of fearful purposely mis-educated humans. Organized-Big-Religion is by far the biggest global enterprise, bigger than Big Oil, and zero taxes.
I'm not talking about people's personal decisions about "spiritual" or "scientific" matters, I refer to highly organized coercive enterprises who at their hearts are not like Jesus or Buddha or Queen Esther; they are mean, vitriolic, center-of-the-universe, spiteful, bomb-throwing or bomb-dropping - mostly-men, in ceremonial robes and head coverings like wizards doing magic. And the way they brainwash their flocks to scare others. |
