My mother told me each year for over 50 years, "a depression is coming". She is gone now, but one day she might be right. Some camps have been saying the end is near in each of the years of the biggest bull, we have seen. One day they might be right. During that time, they lost an opportunity that comes once in a lifetime.

I suggest less concern with indices and more in the stocks you have or will have.
