Our little town is in the midst of a dust-up between some on the city council and the police and fire department. The cops/firemen want to be outsourced to LA County because they'll get better retirement benefits, even though the ones they get now with our city are fantastic.

The ex-mayor came out against the cops/firemen and said that the proposition that's on the ballot should be voted down. He lives around the corner from me.

Just read in the paper that he was arrested for a DUI - in front of his house - at 8 a.m.
