WOW, I guess I stumbled onto the wrong board. I think her hubby has make some great calls, and some terrible ones, not unlike other Presidents, he has kept some promises and ignored others, not unlike other Presidents, but I think Michelle has chosen a platform that is critical to the health of our future generations, and if this was Pat Nixon's platform many years ago it might have been embraced more willingly, and we would have considerably fewer diabetics and citizens with heart disease today.
I now see that there is a lot of anger of this board, and I don't think I will revisit. I am too old to fight, we have no audience to influence, and I have too much military history to ever disrespect out commander in chief, whether he is black, while or brown.
If my daughters was raped, became pregnant, I know the trauma would be hard to face. If that MEDICAL decision were made to terminate, I would be appalled that my little girl was put through the additional pain of having an unnecessary ultrasound procedure performed by people who do not know her, and are not sympathetic to her emotional pain. I may end up being disenfranchised as a Republican because I can't vote for Obama, yet I can't vote for a party that is so contrary to women's rights. Call me a man with short pants, but I respect my wife and my daughters and want then to be in control of their life and their choice to plan the timing and number of their children. God gave us a brain so that we use it. |
