According to CEMA (Consumer Electronics Manufacturers Association), Zenith will be introducing its "NC Internet device" at the International CES (Consumer Electronic Show) on January 8-11 in Las Vegas in the Network Computer Pavilion.

Hope that the product is ready to release. My read is that 95% of consumers just want to turn on their TV and watch/listen. If they want to surf/email the Internet, it's off to the den, a solo activity.

When the NCTV can be completely TV/Net interlaced, with consumers discerning no difference in TV and Internet quality/ease of use, the NCTV will be a humongous hit. Short of this, the only winners to Zenith and RCA entering this nascent market are WebTV, Sony, Sanyo and certainly Bill Gates whom appreciate other players helping to legitamatize this yet unproven, consumer product.

Recommend that Zenith hold off the NCTV release until Java is further developed and sufficient high-definition screens are available to the consumer (graphics are still poor on present TV screens). Zenith has enough on the table, playing to its own strengths, in '98 without the NCTV.
