Interesting article. Thanx for posting. It contains many good points.

It seems consolidation of markets has yet to happen or been pretty unsuccessful todate. That is much like what happened in Latin America post Y2K. Lots of write-offs with the big local boys coming back in and taking back control. Africa is a little different because it appears to have a less stable government sector and a less diverse offering of infrastructure. However, it does appear to be progressing along a similar line to that of Latin America.

Has MNT done well with their expansion out of South Africa? In the areas where they have expanded, would they be considered local boys or invaders? I'm surprised the Chinese operators have dallied in their movement into the territory. I guess they've been too busy getting set up in their home territory to bother. Africa is a long way away for them and they do like to be on the controlling side of regulation.
