Curious zax. Serious question.

Microsoft's revenue has been largely derived from software, specifically upgrades to its OS and Office. With Apple cheapening the cost of software and Google's model giving software away for free, where does MS derive its revenue going forward? I don't see it being able to sustain revenue based on its previous model.

Maybe I'm missing something but unless they start deriving revenue from other sources, their best hope as I see it is to drive up the cost of OEMs using Android so their licensing fees seem like a bargain.
