<< I believe essentially nothing Obama says - but I am open to being wrong.
Of particular interest would be the tax treatment of $100 million in a "green" energy facility.>>

For the record, this thread on energy boards these days is comical in its efforts to disguise political partisanship and ideological skew. Presidents don't make laws; congress does. Washington's tax treatment of "green" stuff is partly aimed at supporting research for a future beyond the corporate bottom line. And much public discourse about energy, regulation, etc. is part of a national conversation meant to influence morale and float trial balloons - and rarely has direct consequences. By contrast, the lobbying $$ of the industry is vastly disproportionate to the public sector lobbies, green or otherwise, and directly seek to shape policy. To "believe nothing" Obama says, but piously to profess to being "open" is droll. Let's stick to numbers and concrete information.
