AMD K-NEW they were in trouble, but have they pulled a rabbit out of their hat with the K6 or not? Sector 7 notwithstanding (ROFL), it appears as though AMD could have positioned itself in a sub-sector of the broader market space, but hasn't that been nuked by Intel's announcement that it's going postal on the low-end market, too? I'm about this far away from dumping everything into Intel and letting it ride. As you know, I don't see Microsoft as an inevitable monopoly anymore, and Intel has been actively addressing the issue of Intel-as-Java host.

I found the following on the Intel site:

Intel supports Java and other emerging Internet/intranet-related technologies because their successful adoption will make rich, real-time multimedia applications available to more PC users. In addition, Intel believes that Java applications will bring intriguing new capabilities to the PC, providing a more compelling experience to end users. Thus, Intel is committed to ensuring that PCs continue to be the best available platform for Java applications.

And this on the AMD site

Huh?
