OK. Forget the stock market then. Let's just stick to the recession call. I bet first half of 2012. NBER doesn't declare recessions until usually a year later. So we'll have to wait until 2013 to see if I am right or not.

So what is your counter bet? It can not be just that I will be wrong. Do you believe that there will be no recession in the next year or two? Be specific.

As to betting money, I'm not a gambler, so we'll have to stick to bragging rights. Or if you prefer, the loser needs to openly acknowledge on this thread that they were wrong and the winner was right.
