not only do i feel your pain, i endured that type of pain for over three years when i lived in florida. i had a house right on the water, so at least i avoided the inland mosquitos. each time a tropical storm popped up, it was like a constant-concern watch to see where it was going. this was back in the mid-1990s, and i can recall at least three times a hurricane appeared to be heading my way for real. at least two of those times i figured i was going to get hit and moved some things upstairs to try to avoid flood damage to some stuff that was mobile. i recall one hurricane that was coming right at palm beach country, but it actually stopped 50 miles away and moved north. they were talking the eye coming into del ray beach before the quick turn. when the hurricane does not come your way, i am sure you are exhausted the next day or two just as i was. it is at least mildly depressing to have to do all that for the "happy" nothing or the "joyous" no damage. it can really be a grind from june/july until october.

you summarized one of the main reasons i wanted to get back to texas as soon as i could.
