Directors buy big chunk of oversold AVL (11/20) From October 28 through October 31, four officers and directors of Aviall, Inc. (NYSE: AVL) bought a total of 14,000 of the firm's shares at an average price of $12.35. David Lee, director of investor relations at Avial, suggested that the insiders simply believed that the stock's recent sell-off presented a good investment opportunity. He noted that the decline of the stock price from $18 to $12 during the recent market panic camejust a few days after the company posted excellent results in the third quarter.

Aviall is the world's largest independent distributor of aviation parts and a leading provider of inventory information services.
The company represents some 140 manufacturers, marketing and distributing parts to over 13,000 general aviation operators and more than 300 airlines worldwide. The company provides economical repairs and support services for aviation batteries, hoses, wheels, brakes and tires. In addition, it operates the industry's largest online marine and aircraft inventory database service, Inventory Locator Service. The service provides an electronic marketplace for the aviation and commercial marine industries.
