US Covanta unveils management rejig

March 20, 2012

Mar 20, 2012 - US waste-to-energy firm Covanta Holding Corp (NYSE:CVA) said Tuesday it had named long-time employee Seth Myones executive vice president and chief operating officer in a management reshuffle.

Furthermore, John Klett has been appointed executive vice president and chief technology officer, while Matthew Mulcahy is the company's new senior vice president, head of corporate development. All appointments are effective immediately.

The rejig is in line with Covanta's plan to pursue continuous operational improvement and to expand its operations organically while developing technology and exploring long-term growth opportunities, president and chief executive Anthony J Orlando explained.

Myones joined Covanta back in 1989. Prior to the promotion he was president of the Americas.

Klett has more than four decades of power plant operation experience, 30 of which in the waste-to-energy field. Part of Covanta since 1986, Klett served as chief operating officer prior to today's announcement.

Mulcahy came to Covanta in 1990. Most recently he was senior vice president, development for the Americas at Covanta Holding's unit Covanta Energy.
