It's exit points which have often puzzled me when profits are taken a few days before expiration when (in my view) the puts will expire worthless. I can accept that one might want to use the money to pursue a better opportunity, but I would need some hard data to convince me that the same opportunity wouldn't be present a few days later (especially if one factors in the opportunity loss in covering rather than going to expiry.)
