I've just started a test, typing the above with the iPad plugged in to the charger, and the charge has already increased by one percentage point. I'm running at about 75% brightness, with auto-brightness turned on.

Good points about the data plans from T and V. They really are the big winners, here. And once you've bought your iPad, you're locked in, so they don't have much incentive to reduce prices.
