I was watching a prognosticator for an investment company tonight on PBS business show talk about HP under Meg Whitman.

Apparently they consolidated the printer and PC divisions under Fiorina, then the next CEO split them up again, Now Meg has consolidated them again. Sheech, how innovative.

Hmmm... he also pointed out they seem to have no visible strategy at all. Personally I think Meg is almost clueless. She was lucky to get to the top of eBay but did nothing there while Amazon took their business.

He pointed out, and probably rightly that HP doesn't have a chance at all making a Windows phone. A pad maybe, because they HAVE to, Apple is destroying the home PC market with iPads.

But the most interesting thing I noticed, is I'm pretty sure many of us really understand this war better than the professional analyst(s). I was not impressed with his understanding of the business. Their day may be coming to an end. Maybe not with a bang but with a whimper.
