One thing I notice in that demo is that rather than concentrating on what some people think is Windows 8's greatest strength, which is support for legacy applications, they're showing off the new experiences made possible by the Metro interface. Metro is arguably the only truly new thing Microsoft has done in at least a decade.

I think the legacy thing is insignificant, because people aren't going to run old desktop apps on tablets anyway. But Metro is fresh, if nothing else.
