It is somewhat unfortunate that Apple was forced into making the trade-offs that were necessary to build an iPad with this display. But it is what it is. I'm quite sure they are putting a lot of R&D money and effort into being able to have this same level of resolution and color accuracy but lower power consumption. If their efforts pay off, the next generation iPad will be just as gorgeous, and lighter and thinner. And it will take less time to charge.
