Duane!!! HI!!!!! Welcome back.... :-)))

Where in blazes have you been? La-la land... Timbuktu...

We were speculating that you were really A.G. (Alan Greenspan) with the OSO as a faux nom. It did not escape us that the two times you decided to refrain from posting, almost to the day, the markets fell precipitously both times! Therefore are you really AG? Should we call you AG from now on? E! is now Sally...

Back to work: Think the current Korean thing hurts DRAM guys more than logic. Posted a detailed answer to Addi a few short posts ago. Agree that DRAM pricing will stabilize and come back and these problems in SEA might benefit DRAM pricing... Main effect of SEA thing for me is semi-equip front end folks short term (6 months down the road)... Plus AMAT's quarter though very good did strike one nervous bone... Size of new orders conspicuously smaller than past 2 q's... something's going on - smaller but larger number versus bigger and large number... Assume SEA thing does not affect LSI and their ilk... assume demand is still robust for techie things and chips are needed for all sorts of techie things... will be a problem if consumers in SEA totally stop spending but am hoping that will not happen... besides LSI needs DVD to succeed (likely... comdex - DVD was big deal) and high end computing to grow (how? not sure perhaps fibre channel and storage) near term to take off... digital cameras and other consumer electronics gadgets using chips getting widespread interest... other effects such as SEA relatively minor to LSI I think.

And welcome to the real world OSO...
