Very good points. Under ordinary circumstances, I wouldn't agree with you. But the way Obama has circumvented Congress has increased the power of the Presidency so much that all of your points make sense. That's why things like the Patriot Act are so dangerous. When they're passed they seem logical until you get a President who abuses the power they give him.
