I think it is still very doable realizing the American dream but it may change if the current admin continues to drown us in debt, put up beauracratic obstacles and heavily tax the doers of society. Worse yet (Bernanke and recent govts) are putting us into so much debt, and they won't have the guts or ethics to tackle the problem until a crises arises and they can inflate their way out of the problem. That is where guys like you and I that have worked hard all of our life, managed to squirrel away enough to retire on, will get screwed and our retirement put in jeopardy. And why we are so vocal about the current economic mismanagement.
