But I would like very much to hear from you just what it is about her positions, her history, her record, even her personality, that you believe would alienate the independents during the election.
I don't pretend to speak for the vast middle, but I will give some of my reasons. When I interview candidates for any job, I want to see that they have successfully done something hard, and that they have learned from it. When considering a presidential candidate, Mayor of Wasila does not count as a hard job. Even Gov of Alaska is not a particularly hard job, since oil revenues spares Alaska of the financial problems faced by other states and the federal govt. It is difficult to consider her term as governor successful, since she quit in the middle of it. I was stuck in traffic while she gave her resignation speech, and it sounded like she was having a total mental breakdown. Too unstable to be one heartbeat from the presidency. These are just my opinions, and that doesn't imply that she is a bad person, simply not yet ready for the presidency or VP. She is relatively young, she could grow into it, but she needs to take a position with real responsibilities and succeed at it. |
