<<Report: More Movies Will Be Streamed Than Watched On Disc In 2012. That's a no brainer. Between the time it takes me to get, see, mail back and get a new disk via mail, I stream countless ones...Streaming is definitely the future of movies. My kid is not willing to wait for a disk, at all. Period.>>

I agree, and this is why Netflix was correct to alter its pricing structure a few months back. When it's all said and done, the big loser in all of this will likely be the post office.

The rapid shift from DVD to streaming has also been documented by Netflix's quarterly shareholder letters.

ir.netflix.com

2010Q4 Letter to shareholders: "More than one third of new subscribers are signing up for the pure streaming plan...the balance of new subscribers primarily takes our $9.99 1-DVD combination plan"

2011Q1 Letter to shareholders: "During the quarter, new subscribers embraced the pure streaming and hybrid plans in roughly equal numbers"

2011Q2 Letter to shareholders: "During the quarter, the streaming only plan continued to gain in popularity, with nearly 75% of our new subscribers signing up for it"

2011Q3 Letter to shareholders: "About 7% of new members choose the $15.98 hybrid offering"
