Capitalism is a economic tool, not a religion. It should be harnessed for the betterment of the citizenry. But's it's anti-democratic and economically predatory and manipulative nature should be restrained by rule of law and regulation.....we must put the people first ahead of protecting and subsidizing corporations (and the greedy individuals who manage and own them). To fail to do so will destroy our country and turn it into a corporatocracy.

Yes, however the root problem is that corporate America and Wall Street banksters have thwarted the spirit of the law by arguing the letter of the law and winning. This has resulted in the rule of law morphing from its common law roots and history to the following: those who rule, make the law, adjudicate the law and interpret the law. This is abundantly clear from the fact that investment bankers got away scot free bundling and selling 100's of billions of bad paper, and taking the other side of bad deals by establishing short positions for their own benefit. There was a time when they would have been convicted for fraud, not by the letter of the law, but by the spirit of the law. When judges no longer have the discretion to make legal decisions based on the spirit of the law, the only outcome can be an anti democratic, predatory, monopolistic, rent seeking corporatocracy that consumes the middle class.
