His alcoholism was also much discussed at the time.

Just in the past year there was a story about a guy on the liver transplant list who was kicked off because his drank a champagne toast at his daughter's wedding.

There was also a lot of talk about this when Larry Hagman (J.R. Euwing) got a transplant.
