At some point or another, conservatives are going to have to make their minds up about personal liberty and if they truly believe in it or not...... Are people responsible enough to run their own lives or not? We've known that cigarettes are hazardous to health for years now and yet we still sell them legally. At the same time, through public awareness of the problem, people who use cigarettes have been steadily declining...... IMO legalization of drugs would lead to the same type behavior, people would loose interest..... There's also got to be a realization that some people have addictive type personalities..... These people will abuse themselves no matter what's available, until they learn a way of breaking their cycle of addiction.....you don't learn that being thrown in prison.....
