As I just said Bill, I think that We the People need to suggest ways that the Hospitals can save money....Maybe if the actual cost of running the hospitals were out in the open, and ITEMIZED per charge, we would all learn something. I can pretty much guarantee we, and they, would.

Most people assume since insurance is paying the bill, they don't have to look over the bill, and squawk if there is a serious mischarge or mistake. I have done that every time I've had to go in.....there are mistakes of coding, and other "mistakes" that are usually rectified. Way too often people have thought of the "bad ole' insurance companies (akin to bad ole' oil, coal, railroad, etc companies) and let the "mistakes" stand so the insurance can pay the bill..... THIS is directly one of the reasons our premiums are so high!

Maybe an Advocate Office could be set up....if the hospitals won't show the bills, individuals could bring their bills, and let sunlight appear on the costs....
