You know what? I think the media is reporting this pretty accurately, except for Fox News, which clearly wants to demonize Travyon Williams and make Zimmerman into a hero. There's a transcript of the Zimmerman's 911 tape here: examiner.com Here's the deal. It's not likely that Williams was some kind of saint, and it doesn't really matter. You have to question whether he was actually any kind of a threat to Zimmerman. It's also clear that Zimmerman is a racist who, having called 911 forty-six times previously, had a kind of vigilante mentality. For one thing, Zimmerman follows Williams, even after the police ask him not to. Is it self defense when you chase somebody down to confront them? And guess what? There were 7 other calls made to 911 about this incident, by neighbors who report hearing someone shouting for help, followed by a gunshot that can be heard clearly on at least one tape. That's a serious problem.
