Mike,

Don't forget the Utica Shale play. Your company, CHK, has stated that it has better overall economics than does the Eagle Ford. And then there is something big happening in Colorado that hasn't been reported on too much yet. In fact, back in November when I was waiting for a flight in Denver, I looked at the local paper and noted an unusually bold headline about some big oil find. Then two weeks ago a friend who is a petroleum land man told me he's heading to Colorado(after having worked the Eagle Ford and Utica shales).

Heck, we might end up not needing the Canadian crap. It's heavy and produces a lot more CO2 emissions than does this shale oil which is remarkably pristine(it gets Light Louisiana Sweet Crude Oil Spot Pricing) and so fetches ~$20 more than your WTI rate, which is the one most frequently quoted in the press.

On a side note, I was just trying to dig some info up for this post and I run across an article that says that the Koch brothers(i.e. - the Tea Baggers) have a big but undisclosed interest in the Keystone pipeline project. Well, if that is true, no wonder Obama nixed it.

Craig
